Deborah T. Kochevar, D.V.M., Ph.D, DACVCP

Board Member


Deborah T. Kochevar has served as a member of the Elanco Board of Directors since March 2019. 

Kochevar serves as Senior Fellow, The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and dean emerita, Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University. 

Kochevar has extensive experience in veterinary sciences and academia. Previously, she served as Provost and Senior Vice President ad interim and dean and Henry and Lois Foster professor at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. Kochevar was also a faculty member at the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at Texas A&M University, Congressional Science fellow to the Senate Labor and Human Resources Committee and a diplomate and past president of the American College of Veterinary Clinical Pharmacology. She is also a former president and chair of the board of directors of the Association of American Veterinary Medical Colleges. 

Kochevar has served on the board of directors at Charles River Laboratories International Inc. since 2008. She earned her undergraduate degree from Rice University, DVM from Texas A&M University and a Ph.D. from the University of Texas Southwestern Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences.
